Terms of Service
Last updated July 26, 2026
These terms govern your use of Mrs. Common Sense. Please read them carefully — they explain what the platform does, what it does not do, and where responsibility sits.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Mrs. Common Sense, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the platform.
If you are using Mrs. Common Sense on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms, and “you” refers to both you and that organization.
2. Description of Service
Mrs. Common Sense is an HR decision-support tool. It asks structured questions about a workplace situation, returns a risk assessment and a recommended course of action, and generates administrative documentation based on your answers.
The platform is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time.
3. Not Legal Advice
Mrs. Common Sense is an HR decision-support tool designed to provide general workplace guidance to small business owners and managers. It is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. The information, recommendations, documents, and guidance generated by this platform are for informational and administrative purposes only and do not constitute legal advice, legal opinions, or the practice of law. Use of this platform does not create an attorney-client relationship. Employment laws vary significantly by state, municipality, industry, and individual circumstance. Mrs. Common Sense makes no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any recommendation or generated document for your specific circumstances. By using this platform, you acknowledge that you are solely responsible for all employment decisions made by you or your organization, and that Mrs. Common Sense shall not be liable for any employment-related claims, lawsuits, penalties, damages, or losses arising from your use of or reliance on this platform. If you are facing a complex or high-risk employment situation, we strongly encourage you to consult a licensed employment attorney before taking action.
4. User Responsibilities
You are solely responsible for all employment decisions made by you or your organization, including any decision informed by a recommendation or document produced by this platform.
You agree that you will:
- Provide accurate and complete information when answering questions.
- Review every generated document before using or relying on it.
- Verify that any action you take complies with the employment laws that apply to you.
- Seek advice from a licensed employment attorney for complex or high-risk situations.
- Not use the platform for any unlawful purpose, or to harass, retaliate against, or discriminate against any person.
5. No Attorney-Client Relationship
Mrs. Common Sense is not a law firm, and no one working on the platform is acting as your attorney. Use of the platform does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and Mrs. Common Sense or any of its personnel.
Information you enter into the platform is not protected by attorney-client privilege or the work-product doctrine.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mrs. Common Sense shall not be liable for any employment-related claims, lawsuits, administrative charges, penalties, fines, settlements, judgments, damages, or losses arising from your use of or reliance on this platform.
This includes, without limitation, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, and any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, whether based in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other legal theory, and whether or not we were advised of the possibility of such damages.
Where liability cannot be excluded as a matter of law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the platform shall not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or one hundred United States dollars.
7. Employment Laws Vary
Employment law differs significantly by state, municipality, industry, employer size, and individual circumstance, and it changes frequently. Final pay deadlines, notice requirements, protected classifications, and documentation standards are all jurisdiction-specific.
Any jurisdictional information presented by the platform, including final paycheck requirements, is a summary provided for general reference. It may be incomplete or out of date. You must verify current requirements with your state labor department or a licensed employment attorney before acting.
8. Subscription and Billing
Mrs. Common Sense is offered on three plans:
- Pay-as-you-go — $9 as a one-time purchase, including 1 HR Decision and 1 HR Document. No account or subscription is required.
- Starter — $14 per month, including 3 HR Decisions and 3 HR Documents each month.
- Pro — $29 per month, including 8 HR Decisions and 8 HR Documents each month.
Monthly allowances reset at the start of each calendar month. Unused allowance does not carry over. Once an allowance is exhausted, you may purchase 5 additional HR Decisions for $12 at any time, or move to a higher plan.
Subscriptions are billed in advance and renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you retain access until then. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law.
We may change pricing on notice to you. Price changes take effect at your next billing period. Failure to pay may result in suspension or termination of access.
9. Privacy
Data you provide is used only to operate the service: to produce your risk assessment, generate your documents, and maintain your account. We do not sell your data to third parties.
Our handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Illinois for any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the platform.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated through the platform or by email where we have your address.
Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
